Indigenismo y migracionismo. Aspectos de la neolitización en la fachada oriental de la Península Ibérica
1996
This paper discusses various aspects on the origins of the Neolithic in the Iberian Peninsula. The dual model is proposed as an alternative to the dichotomy of demie (migrationist) and non-demic (indigenist) explanations. The application of this model in eastern Spain offers an opportunity to evaluate its potential to account for diversity in processes associated with the origins of food production and their spatial organisation.
Sparse Deconvolution Using Support Vector Machines
2008
Sparse deconvolution is a classical subject in digital signal processing, having many practical applications. Support vector machine (SVM) algorithms show a series of characteristics, such as sparse solutions and implicit regularization, which make them attractive for solving sparse deconvolution problems. Here, a sparse deconvolution algorithm based on the SVM framework for signal processing is presented and analyzed, including comparative evaluations of its performance from the points of view of estimation and detection capabilities, and of robustness with respect to non-Gaussian additive noise. Dual-model approach for safety-critical embedded systems
2020
Abstract The paper presents the design of digital controllers based on two models: the Petri net model, and the UML state machine. These two approaches differ in many aspects of design flow, such as conceptual modelling, and analysis and synthesis. Each of these approaches can be used individually to design an efficient logic controller, and such solutions are well-known, but their interoperability can contribute to a much better understanding of logic controller design and validation. This is especially important in the case of safety- or life-critical embedded systems, and apart from this, a dual-model controller design can make up redundant system increasing its reliability.
